Default Motor plate guys, need pics of mounted alternator.

Any pics of a mounted alternator and what you had to do would be great.. Looking for as many different ideas as I need to mount the alternator in my 63 pick up. I think there might be less room than a 4rth gen f-body as the frame rails are fairly narrow and the steering draglink is in that area as well. So the more options and ideas, the better. Thanks in advance.

I was looking at that but I would have to put a hole in the motorplate there reducing material I have. I believe the alternator is too deep to sit there with out cutting.

Will the alternator still charge spining in reverse?

Mine are cut pretty good and haven't had any issue at the 1000++ hp level

Alternators can operate in either direction.

Brian,

Do you have a pic of the plate with out the Alternator and other things that might be in the way? I'd like to see how "skimpy" it is.. Thanks a ton.

I havent mounted mine yet, but I know Im going to need something unique.

Running the GMPP distributor front cover, ATI balancer, and moroso mandrel drive for vac pump and alternator. My guess is Ill have get a SBC alternator bracket and mount it right to the motor plate.

My motor plate is cut out for my alternator as well. Are you running a mid plate?

my plate uses the holes where the BMR brackets attach, and with the distributor front cover, I cant run a standard serpentine dampener.

With all the room on the motor plate, mounting something souldnt be a problem.

Thanks Brian, I'll have to look at it tomorrow but I don't think that I would have that much material left..
