I have a 99 Trans am (A4) with the stock 10 bolt out back, moser axles everything replaced 4'11's, posi. Here recently I have had to remove the back cover on it twice. And after i'm done I put everything back together replace the gasket if needed, and after I drive the car and the axle gets warmed up the bolts come lose and it starts to leak:mad:. The second time around I put washers and lock tight and it still does it, so what do you think ?

get an LPW cover and torque bolts to specs.

You can use some RTV around the gasket to seal it up as well. Make a nice seal on both sides of the gasket and circles around all the bolt holes on both sides.

(and agree with the above, torque the bolts to spec, and a TA cover is a cheap investment)...

I've never replaced one without using RTV and have never had a leak.
