Default New here from the DSM world

Sup guys, i recently decided that i was gonna save up and get a 98+ trans am. I've been in the DSM scene for 2 years now and i'm just tired of the unreliability. i currently have a 1992 Eagle talon tsi fwd, but it needs some stuff to get it back on the road. I also own a 250 ninja that i picked up cheap to get my feet wet in the cycle world, i will upgrade to something bigger after i get a car. For now its just save, and look for good deals!!

That's a lie. You'll look back to say, Damn, why'd I do that instead of this?? It's all good though. The fun is building something, deciding to go a different route, and starting over. Oh yeah, and having the $$$ to do it as well.

ya, i was thinking about getting a 2g spyder as a second car, but its like man, they are just so unreliable the second you change something from stock.
So, i will just have to turbo a the trans am as next winter as long as i do find one for a good price the summer i was looking at the truck header turbo setup and wondered what people thought about it? i mean if theres a real big difference between that and a TT setup, then ill get the TT setup

It's much more fun to build something that will go fast and start every time

I'd definitely recommend LTx or LSx F-bodies, whichever you can afford. Both are very pleasing cars, even from the factory.

I used to be a hardcore DSM guy also drooling over buying a 2G turbo with my 3G as my DD but I have gotten over that and have came to the more fun and reliable world of F-bodies.

These cars will take a BEATING and I mean a BEATING before they break; many guys can attest to that.

DSM... not so much.. lol

Let's pretend F-body is black; we'll go with the saying once you go black, you'll never go back

As a former Galant VR4, and Evo8 RS owner I can identify with you. I now own a 2002 WS6 with bolt-ons and I enjoy it very much. The power from the LS engine is second to none. I agree with saving for an LS, you won't be sorry. Good luck with your search.

Hah I picked up a nail at the track with my BRAND NEW set of drag radials. I ended up doing a patch plug and I've done 50+ passes since.

Welcome to the site! You'll love the LS1.

The realiability of these cars(or at least mine) is right up there with my moms 03 Accord. Ive never had a problem with mine over the 2 years ive owned it, thats with 100k+ miles and i drive the **** out of it some times. Get a 6 speed, much more fun and can take more abuse.

Welcome! Again, I came from an import background myself too...and let me tell you something, even though my cars an auto...there is nothing like putting the pedal to the floor and watching the speedo just climb like none other.

The LSx motors are amazing pieces of machinery...the kicker is, you'll probably get just as good of mileage as with your DSM.
