Default 1st gear very very short. Is something wrong ?

On my a4 ls1, when i start from a stopsign lets say, accelerating normally the car will shift into 2nd before i am even through the intersection. It just seems so short. I have a 3:73 rear but never experienced that with my 3.8l.

Is there something that needs to be tuned or is this normal ? Thanks

Did you buy a hand held tuner..I put 3:73's in my car too,and I had the same problem.I used a diablo tuner to calibrate the speedo and change the shift points. It worked great..

a stock geared a4 should shift to 2nd at 11-14 mph at less than 10% throttle a tune can raise that a little so with 3.73s that would probably be lower
