Default Bleed brakes when disconnecting brake master cylinder?

I removed my brake master cylinder yesterday (I did not remove any of the lines that connect to it) because I was taking out the driver side shock to take out the upper control arm.

Do I need to bleed the system now?

I put it all back together without bleeding, went around the block and parked in front of my house, the brakes felt just fine.

???

You don't have to bleed it.

I did the same thing you did last year. After putting my MC back on it lasted two days and then threw up an abs inop light. If you don't get the light, don't worry about it, if you do you will need to bleed the abs module to get rid of it.
