Default Buy or run?

Ok planning a cam swap this summer and just saw an add in the local classifieds for some heads off a gen III silverado SS
which I believe is the LQ9? the catch is the guy claims the pcm shorted so it has bent rods.....Is this worth picking up to rebuild or is it Fucked...cost to rebuild so I can drop em' on?

damn mod fever making me itch!

It depends if the heads were damaged or not. If he's local, go take a look at them, if they look fine and the price is right, buy them. You might want to check to see that the valves are not bent. But replacement valves aren't hard to get.

Those heads will likely flow comparable to 243 heads but with the 72cc combustion chambers, your CR will drop by almost a full point, likely negating any gain seen from more cfm of airflow. Those heads are great for FI builds, for NA, look for a nice set of 243's. And if budget allows, get them ported.
