I know a few people with the normal headers and they are actually pretty good. If I were going to do a small turbo I would get just the hot parts and get good parts for the rest of the kit.

Well you can do kits a bit cheaply if you shop around and you can get some good stuff off ebay of course. Local guy did a 11.23 at 126 mph in his third gen with masterpower t70 I think he has. Some jg ? or something blow offs and wastegate and think some ebay turbo manifolds.

Bascially a quailty kit comes with these things.

A good wastegate if its external like brand name for example tial ,turbosmart to name two. But you have to watch their are cheap knockoffs out there.
You need a decent blow off. Again non knock off tial, turbosmart, hks again to name a few of the good ones.
You need a quality intercooler although you can possibly get buy without intercooler with alc injection. But intercooler is still nice. here it comes down to fit in the car and abilty to actually hold the boost you want to put thru it and then efficiency. A good intercooler by itself can cost more than that entire ebay kit.
You need a quality turbo. I have heard pretty good things about master power and they seem pretty reasonable in price. Or of course quality garetts and other brand name turbos are a good idea.
Some of use are wondering if aps got stuck with or used some chinese knockoffs in some of the f body kits. There have been some duds. I have one.
Piping well log manifolds can crack , and you can have terrible fit ,you may have to give up air or relocate other things in some kits..
Piping for cold side is pretty basic but nice to have beaded piping so the couplers stay on. Nice to use good silicone and t bolt clamps rather than worm gear and cheap silicone or rubber connectors.
So thats pretty much it. Quality turbo or turbos, qualty intercooler, quality blow offs and gate or gates. Decent piping,Good fitting exhaust manifolds..And all that isn't usually cheap.
