Default How do I remove my airbags?

Im Putting the car on a diet and Want to remove the airbags. Whats the best way to do this?

the driver airbag comes out with 2 or 3 reverse torques head bolts if i remember correctly but you will have a big open gap in your wheel so i would reccomend getting another wheel...your pass side you pretty much have to take the dash apart on that side to get it out... glovebox door, under dash panel, etc...its pretty heavy and bulky so it will take some taking out of things...hope this helps

Yea just read a thread on airbag removal. Looks like a lot of work for 20 pounds.

might as well pull your ac and heat at the same time for some more weight savings lol

I remember a thread, might be the one you were reading Pyro, that someone linked to a company that makes covers for people who didn't want to replace their blown bag. As I recall, the thread dealt with a guy who had just that and didn't want to replace it and wanted to know his options.
