Question Worth the time and money?

Hi.New and first post i have a set of 706 casting 5.3 heads wondering if they are worth getting worked and puttin on my 2000 ls1 Thanks.

they flow slightly worse (-3HPish) but bump up compression from 10.1 to 10.75 (+15HPish) since you have the heads already, and the gaskets and bolts cost anywhere from $100-$250, you need to ask yourself, is $25 per HP a wise investment? and if you ever replace the heads again (which you will if you ever want to make real power) its ganna cost you that $100-$250 again

Thanks for the info i thought that was the case wanted to add a cam and lifters while swapping the heads i drive the car 700 miles a week so don't want to go to crazy.I would also have the heads ported and polished before putting them on.

get em to flow better than ls6 heads (243) and you should make some power from them... if you get some 2.02 1.575 valves in there you should get some healthy numbers out of them
