Huge oil leak!!!

Huge oil leak!!! Problem. Towards the back of the oil pan,drivers side, there is a 3 inch by 1 inch oil plug. The plug generally has 2 ten mm bolts on the outside that fasten and the center two holes flow oil. I picked up the part, which I thought I misplaced, and it does not fit. The plug itself matches perfectly. The issue is the ceneter oil flow holes are plugged and the outer holes are not threaded. I do have a 4X4 v8 Tb. The oil filter is in a different place than 2x4. Anyone know what I need to put in that location? The techs here at work (Chevy store no less) have no idea.

This normally goes in place. It does match up but the bolts don't fit. I pulled this part from another oil pan myself. I even laughed and said "Nothing can stop me now". I gotta quit doing that **** man. Geeeezzzzzzzz..........

i think we are all a little confused here,, tell us more about this build,, is this the original pan from your 5.3 and all you did was swap it to your new build??, where is the original oil pan?
are those allen socket plugs in the oil cooler holes??
those holes seem to be plugged, i would say your oil leak is from somewhere else, there is a main oil gallery plug just above where you took the picture on the block, or the oil pan gasket got messed up , oil flows through the block and the oil pan gasket to the oil passage holes in the pan to get to the filter

I visually have seen the oil flow from these holes. You can also see clean spots where something was mated on there. EVERY LSX oil pan I have seen has the piece I have pictured here. I have yet to look at another V8 4X4 TB. The front diff's are WAY different from a regular GM 4X4. The axle shoots through the oil pan.
Also I can stick a screw driver all the way in to the holes.

Ah...That is what I am feeling with my screw driver. If I can't get that to screw on, I will need to pull the whole thing again as the oil pan is one piece back plate to pan.

If I have the allen head plugs in from the factory, it should be holding the tube on. Hopefully. My block is not threaded in that location and the other blocks have been.

what back plate??
-remove oil dipstick
-remove your axle shafts
-take off the 4x4 coupler on the pass side of the pan
-pull out the short axle stub shaft
-un bolt the front diff assembly and push it to the side, or remove it, it will come out with some fanagling
-remove the starter and inspection covers
-remove ac compressor bolts
-remove the oil pan bolts
-Remove the oil pan by tilting the rear of the oil pan down to clear the transmission, pull the oil pan rearward past the front wire harness, then lower the oil pan clear of the vehicle.
-remove oil dipstick
-remove your axle shafts
-take off the 4x4 coupler on the pass side of the pan

LOL The back side cover is one piece with the oil pan. I know I had it in my hands and even put in the new rear main seal. I know mosty 5.3 engines have face plate, back plate and oil pan. This rig just has a two piece setup. My first thoughts upon seeing it where I liked it for the fact it would reduce leaks. Then I imagined a situation like this and didn't feel it was that great of a desiegn. Made for slipping the pan over the oil pick up tube fun too.

the rear engine cover bolts to the oil pan on everything i have ever seen,, i can see the bolts in your picture you posted,,, those 2 rear oil pan bolts hold the rear cover to the oil pan

I really wish now I had pics. I did take some but the memory card got corrupted. I didn't get to post as complete build pics as I would of liked. It is truely strange to look at. I think this is a reason why I am having issues with this. The truck was a custom order unit from the factory. It is a 5.3 nonext which just doesn't happen. I guess I will thread the hole and plug the damn thing. What could it be screwing up if I did? Anyone?
