factory rears are 18x10.5, and the factory rear tire on the Z06 is 295/35/18, factory front tire is 265/40/17

295s are the max. 285s would be the safe max for a 9inch wide wheel.. which means 295 is fine.

If they are 10.5 in the rear, which they should be if they arent replicas, then you can fit 315's EASY

So.... Have we decided on the "official" size for the rears or what? Because I'm buying these wheels also. Haha.

Just throwing this in there.... If you choose a tire from lets say tirerack, say 275/40R17. Click on the tire specs and it will give tire diameter, section width, tread width on a cetain size rim. It will also give you the acceptable range for rim widths of that size tire. You can also do this from most tire manufacturers websites.

not to sure about the thin spokes but ive got c5 z06's and i think they are like 11 or so in the rear and ive got a 295/35/18 in the rear and i probably couldve gone slightly wider but they scrape slightly (depending whos riding with me lol) on the fender wells as it is so theyre good for now.

if it were me to see if you think its safe id stand back there and look at the tread width in relation to the rim (dont bother lookin at the sidewall yet) see if while your lookin at it flush with the rim that the tread could be slightly wider use that to make your decision i wouldnt necessarily go by a given width id go by whats on there now and how it fits on the wheel as is. also different brands of tires come into play when it comes to tread width

such as how nittos run a bit narrow and BFGs (KDWs in my case) can get pretty fat

and as im sure you know as you go up in width it will get slightly taller depending on if you stay with the current aspect ratio or not so look at that also

yes^^^

the correct size for a 4th gen would be a 275/35x18, altho a 285/35 would be ok too, and a 245/45x17 on the 8.5" fronts

I wouldn't have any problems putting these wheels on my 01 Z28 right?

Speaking of corvette rims I'm thinking about buying a set of 22" rims this guy had on his 06 Z06 trying to figure out a good tire combo to use with my SS

Seriously? you brought back a 2 year old thread and it's not even relevant to the OP. do a search, or better yet sell the car and get a caprice, that way you can fit the stereotypical *** driving around on 22's.
