Default Random & multiple missfires

I keep throwing this code. I've read that it's usually related to the distributor, but I'm thinking it's probably not. I usually get the code late at night and/or when I'm a few miles from the beach. Therefore is it likely that I've got some bad wires? My friend says it can't be timing or spark plugs.

i had same problem i put some new plugs and plug wires and its gone. i had tr55 and i guess broke some of the tips off and i didnt know it. so then i put e3 diamond fire plugs in and factory 7mm wires and no problems. i would highly reccomend e3 diamond fire plugs. you dont got to gap them and i know a few people that have powerful cars and they run them and love them. best plug in my opionion. kinda expensive, but well worth it.

I just found I had multiple misfires and the passenger side was running lean turns out I had 2 burned ignition wires . I swapped to some jegs 8mm and Ngk tr55's..now the misfire is gone and this thing flies ! You could have a burned opti cap !

You can hear the popping when I'm at idle. While I'm driving it seems perfectly fine.

On a side note, are you able to adjust timing on these cars?

Replace in this order:

Plugs
Wires
Coil
Opti
ICM

That should cure your P0300.
