My old opti had grey gasket maker on the back side and where the cap mounts and it worked fine till I swapped it for the msd.

Put the msd in 2 years ago when I had cash on hand so I wouldn't have to deal with opti problems and now 2 years later, strapped for cash and I am having ign problems.

you sound like me dafaic. I did the same thing and now my msd cap and rotor went out. so i feel your pain on that one. I also put mine in two years ago. msd had an issue with the o-ring that they put in between the cap and rotor. You might check and see if your is the round style o-ring or the square style. if it is the round style they are helping people out and repairing them for much cheaper

thats the problem They sent me the square one. I gave the square one to the speed shop that installed it. When I pulled the cap guess what no oring!

Not sure what is wrong with the car. I have a no start thread open now if you don't mind telling me how did you verify it was your cap and rotor? Hate to hijack his thread.

Topic is 97 TA M6 no start

Thanks
