15x8 or 15x10 prostars for a M6 car
Hey guys, search not user friendly lately. Would Like opinions from everyone but M6 guys HELP.
I have a 01 Camaro with boltons and will get a cam soon. Car has a MWC fab 9" and Looking for mid 11`s and im done. I have skinnies for the front now trying to find prostars for the rear. Should I go with a 15x8 or a 15x10? will I have to roll the fenders if I go with a 10" wheel?
What tires/ et streets are suggested?

i would think a 275 wide et street on a 15x8 would be fine but lets have some other people chime in here
as far as rollingg the fenders for the 15x10, it depends on wut height tire you use, backspacing and if youre lowered or not

Yeah but why add the weight if you never need that big a tire? Hes only looking for mid 11s.
Ive seen some damn impressive 60fts 1.3-4s on 275 MT DRs. So why add the extra rotating weight? Point being if you can run in the 9s or better on a 275 DR then why not grab the 15x8s. Im buying mine for a good deal, so thats how I ended up with the 15x8s but Im not worried about the car not hooking either.

Why? Are you having probs hookin?
Im not saying theres anything wrong with 15x10 at all, just saying 15x8s and the right set up(tire/suspension) would work just fine for 90% of cars. I know 15x8s will work for me so I wasnt 2 concerned when looking. Just looking for the best local deal.

You sound like everyone else that say.. "why run a big cam when you can make the same power with a small cam?!" But everyone still buys a big cam Mr. LE2 *cough *cough, lol. Also with having a little bigger tire you dont need to be SPOT ON with your suspension to hook, gives you a little lee-way and still hook. No such thing as too much traction.

I was told by a m/t rep that on stick cars you want a wide bias ply tire. Said the foot print from a wide tire was probably better than the same amount of foot print of a taller tire. So 15x10 dumdumdum!

LOL! Im not sayin there is anything wrong 15x10s I like them! If there was a local set for the same deal I would have grabbed them, but there wasnt and these will work just fine. Maybe better??
I just dont see what the point is since Im gonna run 275/50s, They fit fine on both rims. Maybe use a 26x11.5 et street down the road. Hell in the class im gonna run at the LTXshootout doesnt even allow ET streets or slicks.
I dont have a big cam either. Its a medium size cam. Oh and I did grab the 15x8s after reading this and deciding My pennis is big enough that I dont have to make up for it with 15x10s.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with 15x8. I ran them for a few years. I was just trying to help him out. I have a stick car, he was asking about wheels for a stick car, and I gave my bias opinion.

Either will be fine for you, don't overthink it. Get what u can afford and be done with it. If your gonna buy new u might as well just pony up the few extra dollars for the 15x10's just in case down the road your plans change.
