Default Side Molding

What is the safest and easiest way to remove that crappy side molding from my car?(arctic white 2000 TA) And is it painted underneath or will it look absoultely horrible? My car needs some TLC and this is definitly one of the first things on the list. plus i would like to remove it before i do a really really heavy detail job to her. Thanks for all your help!

If the door has never been repainted shouldnt be a issue, a good plastic bondo spreader would work good, lil beat of heat would help loosen up the glue

I have read that your paint may be discolored underneath the molding. (Or rather I should say your paint may have changed color in reference to what is under the sidemolding.)

I would use fishing line and some adhesive remover.

best way to remove is with a hairdryer and fishing line. then go back over it with WD-40 or bug/tar remover to remove the remaining crap. then wash and wax. takes about an hour to do. just go slow and you wont take any of the paint under the molding with the trim.

yes you car will be white under the trim molding. with a white car, i wouldnt worry about discoloration. have fun...

Being on a white car.... just to be safe... I'd first pull off one of the small pieces at either end to check for discoloration issues.
