Default Fuel Gauge stopped working

About a month ago I noticed my fuel gauge stays on full for the first ~150 miles and then slowly begins to drop, but never to the right place. I tried to search, but I guess I have not figured out how to use the new search.
Anyone know if its an easy fix or what I need to do?

I have had the car for about 8 years now and the gauge has always worked up til last month. But now, after I fill up the tank, the gauge stays at full. When I start the car the gauge goes from emtpy to full...so I know it is not "stuck" in the full position, but I was not sure what would have caused the gauge to stop working this past month.
As far as "not to the right place"...it used to be at 3/4 full after about 100 miles, then half by ~150 miles, 1/4 after ~200 miles...Lately its just been staying at the full line.
