Default Flooded turn signal housing takes out socket. Where to get?

I found a hairline crack in the housing finally and after two bulb changes it looks like the socket is gone. I get DRL but when I turn on the right signal I get nothing. The socket is corroded pretty bad. Anyone know how to get the pins out of it to pull it apart or where I can get a replacement socket?

I think the sockets on the birds are the same as on the Camaro. Just go to autozone, advance auto, etc, and get the standard GM socket off the shelf. It is only a few bucks. I had to replace both of my signal sockets in the front and that's all I had to do. It won't show up in their computers so don't bother asking them.

Chop off your bad socket and take it in to compare to be sure first.

You do not have to "chop off" the socket. The socket comes apart. There is a write up over at ls2 complete with pics and part numbers. It may be too late to help you but maybe it will help the next person that finds this thread.

Very nice, was not aware of that. Much better than splicing, or at least easier.

Mine has done that on both sides. The cheapest and IMO easiest way to do it is go to a junkyard and find a 3rd gen(It seems they are in abundance around here at least) most of them have the same sockets as 4th gens

How is it easier to dig around a junk yard looking for a used socket that you can buy brand new at almost any auto parts for less than $10? My time is worth more than that not to mention new > used.

IMO means in my opinion. Besides a new one will go out just as easy as a used one, ask me how I know. I picked mine up for 2 bucks, I will gladly walk 50 feet and cut some wires to save 5 bucks. Plus when you at a junkyard you can always find cool stuff.

<----- is fully aware what IMO means.

Guess it depends on where you live. I would have to spend $5 in gas to get to a junk yard.
