Default Removing stock front speaker X-overs and adding new

So I think I am getting some unwanted lows sent to my CDT tweets I put in the doors. I have a set of CDT Two-Way "Z" X-Overs I was going to put in place. Can someone tell me where the stock X-Overs are located with a drawing or picture and possibly how to wire the new X-Overs in?

Or could I put something on the tweets to make things good? I need to listen to the mids some more to see if something is wrong there too but I know the tweets are distorting.

Thumbs up

How's it going, Haven't seen any posts from you in a while?
Here's your wire colors:

Firebird Coupe Doors

Tan...Left Tweeter +
Gray...Left Tweeter -
Dark Blue...Left Mid +
Light Blue...Left Mid -

Light Green...Right Tweeter +
Dark Green...Right Tweeter -
Orange...Right Mid +
Dark Green...Right Mid -

I read a thread somewhere that said the factory firebird tweeter x-over is in the doors, but I can't find it!

IMO, get the correct x-over wired in soon, before you need to buy new tweeters!

Been busy. Suspension is working well and the 9" will be here this week and I can rip all the stuff back out LOL

Where is Ian? I know he can tell me where they are and what route I can take to kill the lows. Anyone else?

The crossover is connected 6-8 inches away from the stock door speaker. It is clipped onto the plastic piece that the factory door speaker went into. All it is is a small computer board wrapped in this foam material. If you follow the cables that connected to your stock speaker, there is no way you can miss it.

if you mean a crossover that separates the signal to mid and tweeter that doesnt exist. the mids get their power from the amp, the front tweeters from the hu. there is something in the tweeter line to filter out low signals though.but it wont help your mids and if they are stock then yes, they will have distortion lol

I have CDT CL-61 mids from Ian in the doors and CDT TW-25 tweets in the pods. I don't recall a board so maybe mine are gone? I put the speakers in and don't recall anything. Anyone have a picture?

So would I be better off running some kind of blocker or put my Z two-way crossovers in?

You cant see the board just a big piece of foam. Its on the wires that are attached to the tweeter so you can't miss it.

Yea I think those must have been long ago chopped out. Any option to achieve what I want without installing the X-overs?

parts-express.com has "bass blockers" in various frequency ranges for about $3 each. That would be the cheapest way to replace the factory inline high-pass filters.

Look on your CDT x-over and see if it has the ability to power the midrange and tweeter separately(tweeter input and midrange input). Plus, that would protect the tweeters better, and overall your speakers should sound better.
