Default Vibration in 3rd only

I've got a 40K mile 2002 4L60E thats been built up with the usual stuff. As far as the rotating mass it just has a borg warner 8 disc 3-4 clutch set, and a beast sunshell.
It only vibrates in manual third at highway speed (55 and up)
I did the test of putting it in neutral and the vibration doesn't change much when the rpm drops.

I'm only thinking it's that because in 2nd and 4th the band is applied and it doesn't move.

Could it be an off brand, out of balance sunshell with the stock bushing?
Or what else?

As far as I know only one company makes anything like the beast shell. It says its a patented design on it.
I have seen stock shells with a big washer weilded on them.
I would be more inclined to think maybe the reverse input could have belled a little maybe since it also stops to in 2nd and 4th.
I have noticed though that more overall vibration is transfered in 3rd gear.

I also get vibration in drive but when I put it in OD the vibration goes away. It doesn't always do it but when it does you can feel it. Strange thing is, when I put the car in OD then back in D it stops vibrating at times. I just recently got the performabuilt level 2 and the billet converter that I purchased along with it installed. I haven't put a good 300 miles on it yet. Is it something that will work itself out. Also I've noticed when I'm cruising and apply brakes the rpm hand drops to almost 1k but when I get off the brakes they jump back up with a jerk. As if the trans was in neutral and shifted back into gear.

You are feeling the converter lock and unlock with the tap of the brakes which is normal , The vibration is rarley a trans issue since theres not much room there . Most commonly they are realated to poly urethane mounts . Which transfer normal vibration to the chasis heavily .

I don't have poly mounts but I do have those factory rubber mounts that been on the car since day 1. The car has 102,000K miles on her. I'll replace the old rubber mount with a new and see how she feels.

My mounts are good. Everything was fine. I pulled the trans, put in a converter, now this.
I even marked the driveshaft to get it back in the position it was in, and still....

Hey man. Did you ever figure out what caused the vibration.
