Default Transmission slipping, now engine wont run

this is a 99 formula with a 3600 stall.

On the way to town the tranny went in and out of over drive a few times then stayed in 3rd without shifting to od for about 10 miles.

Once in town i noticed that the rpms would go to 3k before the car would start to move ( I have a 3600 stall ) but it never takes that many rpms just to leave a red light with normal acceleration.

leaving town the car from a red light shifted to 2nd then the rpms went up to about 4k then it stoped pulling, i got out and checked for a leak and found nothing, when i revved the engine it popped a little. i tried to make it home but the engine would no longer run. like it isnt getting any fuel.

I turned the key on and off a few times then it will crank for a few seconds, it seems to me if the fuel filter or fuel pump were going out it would have no effect on the tranny, or do i have two problems that just occured at the same time.

any help would be great, i dont even know where to start looking.

Could be two problems or could be loss of power to the PCM I would try scanning first then check fuses.

i put a fuel gage on it and there is zero pressure, i cant hear the fuel pump kick on when i turn the key, i changed the filter and the fuel relay, still nothing, fuel pump must be gone, just seems funny to me that the tranny was acting like that right before it went

I put a new fuel pump today, 60 psi, engine ran fine until transmission warmed up to 150 deg. the tranny stoped pulling and the engine started cutting out. what now, conmpuiter, or tranny gone and causing compuiter to cut out the engine?

You could have a trans issue but it unlikley to affect the way the engine runs, In fact its more likley the engine running problem would affect the transmission.
I would get a scanner on it and see just exactly whats happening.
