Default Broken Mirror

Awhile back, i was at the power wash and when i sprayed the mirror, it broke. The mirror just looks back towards the car, and if you push it, it goes back to where it originally was. I haven't taken it off, but i'm just assuming it's one of the cables/brackets behind it. Is there a GM rebuild kit for this? I searched and ended up finding one thread, but the guy said it was just the mirror itself, which i don't even need. Thanks in advance...

There are springs behind the mirror that keep it in place. One of yours may have broken or come off the mount.

Keep looking, there were some posts a long while back that showed a method for fixing this.

here is the problem i am having..the green cable came undone. there has to be a better way to fix this other than buying a whole new mirror assembly and dealing with repainting it and all. There isn't much slack to work with, so i dont' see how any type of glue would hold this..

Your plastic looks broken. You could probably replace the insides and not have to repaint the shell, right?

Depending on the type of plastic, you may be able to chemically weld it. What type is the plastic? (There should be a two or three letter abbreviation stamped in the back, like PE, ABS, PPE)
