Default MSD Box location

Where do you have your MSD box placed? I had it in the engine bay and I think it got to hot and fried the box. The reason I say that is because it was 105 degrees outside, idling at Bear Country USA in the black hills and my car shut off next to a few Bison and would not start up again. Tested the MSD box and sure enough it was fried. I am putting in the new MSD this week and need to find a good place to put it. Glove box? Under the passenger seat? Engine bay again?
Thanks!

From what I've read the glove box is not good cause it gets hot and needs ventilation. Most people mount the box on the driver side above the fusebox. I mounted mine on the other side.

MSD instructions say specifically no to the glove box. It needs to be in a well ventilated area.

I had mine in the same spot as "LT1" for several years without any issues. I got a 2 step and adjustable launch rpm controller and moved it to the passenger side of the trans tunnel.

I have mine in the same general area as LT1, I don't have it bolted down or anything either, just fits nicely sitting flat right there, had it there about 3 1/2 years now, no issues.
