Exclamation Faint Knock

I have heard the ticking that comes with all LS1's but the other morning it was a little colder than normal and did not have time for the motor to warm I was in a hurry and when I started down the road I heard a faint knock then it went away and not heard it since. Any idea what caused it and is anything hurt the car has only 74k and full of German Castol.

I hear this also when I start up in the morning. It last for a couple of minutes, or until I take off down the road. Maybe the oil isn't lubing everything as quickly as it should?

I have also heard this on my 2000 Formula, usually when it's cold outside and the engine isn't up to operating temp. It goes away as the engine warms up after about 1 min or so.

It may be piston slap because our motors are aluminum and when its cold they contract and expand when hot but this is almost rod bearing noise but it goes away spun rod bearing will not go away it will just get worse unless you put some 90w in it,HAHA.

yep, piston slap. Both my cars do it my wife's malibu and my old ford truck. Rods get lounder as oil gets warmer so that tells you it's not a rod.
