Default ? about rear shocks

got a quick question about some shocks i ordered last week. They are Strange single adjustables for the rear of a 98-02 f-body. I have them out of the box and ready to go on the car but when i compress them down, they dont rise back up. they just stay down. is this normal? or do i need to send them back to Strange.

They may be moving so slowly that i cannot see them move, i dont know. i just would like to here someone else's answer on this, and who has experience with these kind of shocks. thanks

Coleman, some shocks rely on the springs to bring them back up. Call Strange and see what they say.

They are fine. They won't act like they would on the car if there off the car.

That's normal with adjustable shocks. Like someone said before, some shocks rely on the springs to extend the shock.
