Default Cutout Weld

Hey guy's I've been looking around forever where to get my cutout welded in. I want to do the wiring myself and all I need is the stupid weld. 90 percent of the exhaust shops I called had no idea what it even was to begin with and when I showed up at one they told me my car is too low for the lift.

I finally found a place that seemed to know what they were doing and were very helpful, until they gave me a price quote of 100$.... TO WELD IN A CUTOUT.

Someone recommend to me where the hell I can find a place that will charge me 30-40$ and have somewhat of a clue what they are doing? I am in the west chester area.

I went to a muffler and brake and they did it for $35. I wouldn't call, go there with the cutout and just explain that you want it welded inline with your current exhaust.

$100 sounds about right because by the time you put in on the lift,cut/weld it properly you'll probly be an hour.So an hourly shop rate and materials could be easilly $100.

Bet you didn't think of it that way.

Yeah my shop rate is $94 an hour so that sounds right but some exhaust shops will do it alot cheaper.

Everyone claims to have got theirs done anywhere from 10-50 dollars, and those who payed upward of 40 were claimed to have been ripped off. Has anyone else here actually payed 100 to get theirs welded in?

i got quoted $40 by a friend of mine to do it but this was before i got my lift so im just going to do it myself. a real shop should do it for about $70-100 for one hour of time, i know if someone asked me, id say at least $50 but i also dont like working on other people's cars

Shops would not put your car on the lift for 50 bucks....

I found a shop that did it for 80$, more than I wanted to pay but it sounds good and he took his time to do it right. I still see threads about people not willing to pay over 60 for a cutout install all the time.

I bought a cheap ebay welder and did it myself for less than most shops are going to charge you.
