Default Factory alarm issues!

Hi there. I am a little confused about the factory alarm in my car. I see the little black box located on the rear passenger side fender wall behind the trunk carpeting, it is definately there. I have done a few different variations in the settings in terms of enabling and disabling which involves multiple steps. However, I don't know why the car is not sensing when I push on it? It doesn't trip the alarm for some reason. I have it set currently to mode 2 I believe. Anyone know about this?

Thanks,

The rear sensor is a shock sensor not a motion sensor. When properly adjusted, it takes a sharp blow to the body to trigger the sensor. There is a red LED on the sensor that will indicate when it is activated by a shock so you can monitor if it is working properly.
