Default alternator relocation

Are there any issues with relocating the alternator towards the bottom of the accessory bracket with water being exposed to it? I've been throwing the idea around to do a relo but since my car is my dd for now until I get another beater I was wondering if I would have any issues

You should be ok. Im running the Speed Inc. kit which keep the power steering. By far the best/nicest relocation kit on the market for these cars.

Why? Look at where the alt. is located on the LS1's?

You should be fine. The LS1 alt's are located at the bottom driver side of the engine. Like where the AC compressor is on our cars, but on the opposite side.
