Issues with ETX16 Battery
OK I managed to get this connected properly per Dloves advice, I disconnected the radio, HVAC and power acc before I cranked her up.
Cranked fine no issues, but will not stay on, the car wont idle. It wants to die.
What am I missing? Why is the engine not able to idle properly.
I put the stocker back, no problems.....
Just wanted to find out if anyone has any advice, before I give up on this idea.
If it wont work, I'm thinking of a battery relocation to the rear.

Alright, alright excuse my carelessness, apparently it needed better contact from the terminals on to the actual tiny etx posts.
Managed to get it good tonight, let her get up to temp and waited for the fans to kick on, NO problem as of yet.
I did pull the fuses for HVAC, Radio, and PWR accessories.
I will only be using this for track use, so it looks like I might be ok!

I have been using one for a month now in 30 degree weather with no problems. I just make sure I dont leave anything on for very long when the car is not running.

If you have a trickle charger that would be good. Otherwise just having the battery on the shelf will be fine. I havn't had an issue yet with letting it sit over time not hooked up.
If you are worried about it, I would throw it in every 2 weeks and drive for about 30mins on it.

Definately don't let the little battery ever go dead, if it does it will not recover. I had alot of problems with mine dying and it never took a charge right again. Last time I ran the car with the little battery I was jump starting it every pass and I was like screw this thing.
I went to a trunk mounted full size and won't look back.
Keep the battery on a little tender when it's not in the car and ya should be fine I think.
