Default Has anyone tried the Alum LCAs from Ebay???

Looking for LCAs on Ebay, I ran across an ad for aluminum LCAs that someone makes, rod ends and a matching PHR. I want to see if anyone has used these and can testify to their strength. Unfortunately my after coming back from a month vacation I noticed my car was molested by my roommates wife, or friend and is now in need of new LCAs after what appears to be jumping a curb or parkstop! Thought if these ones are strong enough to handle a couple hundred **** off the line, and an ***-load of torque why not! Thanks,

Charlie.

Strength wise, they will be fine. What isn't the best on them are the spherical ends, they are kind of cheap and will wear out quickly. I'd go for Madman, PPC, or LG aluminum rod/rod pieces, they have a much higher quality spherical end.

So, maybe ok to use as is, then swap out the rod-ends?
Was looking at Spohn double rod ends, but wanna try something different (and cheaper) if it safe, strong and all that.

Thanks.

If you want rod/poly go with LG LCAs. I had mine for 1.5 years and haven't touched them since and absolutely no noise. For rod/rod go with GW.

I think those are MADMAN pieces. He just posted some pics in the Sponsors area and the pics are the same as the ones that I saw on eBay. Can anyone confirm this?

All the billet aluminum rod/rod suspension pieces look alike. Visually you aren't going to see hardly any distinction. Literally all they are is a aluminum pipe that has been tapped at either end, with the rod ends screwed in with a jam nut. You can make them yourself if you wanted to. What IS different are the rod ends. The ones on eBay are cheaper ends. Madman, LG, PPC, they all use much higher quality rod ends. I'm not calling the eBay pieces garbage, but they WILL make noise well before higher quality rod ended pieces from the aforementioned shops.

Well, takled with Jeff and sounds like a good investment since I need these things again. The ends are teflon lined for maximum durability. Looks like friday order and review once they are here and on!

Yes, these are the strong tuthill rod ends that are teflon lined...These are the same parts that are on PAINS monster car, MADMAN's 8 sec shop car and they are on my 9-10 sec nitrous car...You will not have anything to worry CAT3.

Hell, I can get any rod end you guy's like but it will cost you...I can get 30.00 40.00 a piece rod ends but I will have to add it to the price...The ends im using are really excellent teflon lined ends($17 a piece) that I have had on my car for a few years now and still running them....

As noted above, the PPC billet alminum LCAs and PHB use the top quality teflon lined rod ends. No rattles or anything.... long life too.

One note.... the Spohn units ARE NOT lined & rattle like an angry snake! Not to pick on them but, any that don't use good lined rod ends will drive you nuts on the street.

I have 30,000 miles and a dozen road race days and a dozen drag days on the units on the PPC car..... still going strong.
