Default Need advice using N2O with 4400 Vig. Stall, and 4.10s...

Hey guys I've been getting different opinions on running nitrous with my current set-up and would like some more input. I'm running LS6 style Patriot Stage 2 heads with an SI5 cam, all bolt-ons, a 4400 Vigilante Converter and 4.10 gears. I've been hearing that I should switch my gears to 3.73 or I will run out of gear and have also heard that I'm going to blow through my stall on nitrous. What do you guys think? Should I change gears and stall or just run it as is. I'm thinking of running a 100 wet shot or maybe a 150. Thanks for your time....

I was running out of gear with 3.73s and 26" tires at 120mph, but my motor is completely stock and was only shifting at about 6100.

I swapped to 3.50 gears when the Moser 9" went in, still getting 60ft times just as good as before.

Somethings probably going to have to change, but why not make a pass and see what happens? My guess is, in the end you'll use a little less converter.

Don't spend a dime until you see the problem occur. I change mire tires from 26" to 28" and my gears from 4.10 to 3.73 and I wish I had done only one or the other. Both compounded the effect and now I wish I had a bit more bite back there off the line.

**** what everybody else says.. Why would you change anything until you try it and see for yourself? Its simple. Buy a kit and spend a few hours putting it on the car. Drive that bitch to the track and let it eat. You will find out for yourself what needs to be done IF anything.

I have a Gils Trans rebuilt 4L60E tranny and am running 275/40/17 ET streets in the back...I think you guys are right and I should just run it with some nitrous and see what happens.

Just make sure you have a window switch so when you hit the limiter on the top end you don't blow it up.

If it hits the limiter one time and blows up then it was just time to go!!!

**** I ran a 5500 n/a converter for part of last year with 4.10's and a 28 inch tire.

Needless to say I picked up a good bit when I swapped to a 4000 nitrous converter but still.

I'd run it the way it sits, and see what happens. If anything I'd just raise yout rev limiter to 7000 if it's not already there, have the nitrous turn off at 6800 and let it eat.
