knocking sound when in park. What could it be?

knocking sound when in park. What could it be? Here recently, when I have my car in park, i can hear a rapid "knocking/popping" sound. If I have my foot an the brake pedal, i can FEEL it through the pedal. It happens about 90% of the time. What the hell could it be?
