Ive have had my TCI street fighter for over 2 years and in 2 different car, no problems yet. The street fighter is a 2800 stall with a 2.2 stater I believe. If i were him and buying a converter now I would purchase the superstreet Fighter converter By TCI, 3500 stall with a 2.5 stater , well worth the money. From a performance stand point with 273s gears and some boltons it would get a 60ft of 1.82 to 1.85 at the track. Now with a small cam and 342 gears my 60ft is 1.70 to 1.74 at the track by the way that is on nitto drag radials. Hope this helps u.

Get at least a 3500 or you'll be upgrading later.

I would agree that your friend should get at least a 3500. Driveability will still be fine, but he will find a better performance gain. What are his goals with the car?

TCI SSF 3500= damn near the best street converter on the market. If I were him I would defiantly go with something larger than a 3000.

Yeap, TCI SSF 3500 is what I run. that's what i suggested to him. But he calls me a maniac on my launches and he wants something tamer. He doesn't want to trash his Dif. (Which I tell him he will have to do anyway one day, and so will I) but that doesn't stop me

So if any A4 guys want to add a bigger TC you guys suggest a stall around 3500?? Will that be too big? And for a daily driver?? Was going to go around 2800/3000 but you guys say dont bother.. get a 3500 ar least?

From info I gathered around, the 3000 2.2 str is a bit tighter on the street, but gives up .10/.15 in the 1/4. I got a 3500 like I said and it is ok on the street. I increased line pressure and it seems less loose not that it was too loose to begin with.

So, you guys suggest a 3500 at least then? And not to bother with anything under or around a 3000. Would there be a noticable difference? I am new to the racing/f-body scene so i dont know crap about it. But from what i am hearing it sounds like a 3500 is a must if us A4 guys are going to keep up with the m6 guys. Thanks...

You got, dont buy less than 3000 stall, but you will need to upgrade your tires . Traction becomes a bitch, LOL

A TCI 3500 seems ideal on the street to me. It's a preference things but most people really like a 3500 for a daily driver. IMO, a 3000 stall is a truck converter.

And i guess a cooler and a shift kit would be a must as well.

LOL! I's just kiddin' really. I used to run a 2600 in my '00 a long time ago!

A cooler for a 3500 is not absolutely necessary but it is HIGHLY recomended and certainly money well spent, IMO.

A shift kit is nice to have but is by no means necessary. I think it's a really good idea when the power starts getting high and again, nice to have for any setup.
