Default So my car only trapped 86 in the 1/8??

I took my car down the track lastnight for the first time with this combo and it didn't turn out good. My best 60' was 2.33 with 285/35-18 tires. Any suggestion why it was this slow?

the 2.33 60 ft. might have a little to with that low trap. how much does the car weigh?

It's because you're spinning really bad. Put a REAL tire on the car and then see what it does.

I'm not sure what the car weighs. I don't have any weight reductions and it does have an iron block in it.

What was your ET?
What tires are you running?
Get it on the dyno and see what it puts down for rwhp & rwtq.

86 in the 1/8, what was that a low 8 sec et? Should be mid/high 12's in the 1/4?

My best 60' was 2.27 instead of 2.33 and i went 8.74@86.05. This was with radial tires. No drag radial

What made me feel worse was i ran against a 2002 Z28 auto with headers and drag radials only and i still couldn't pull on him at all

its almost impossible to compare times if you are running street tires with a h/c set-up. get the 60 ft. to at least 1.9 and then you kind of figure where you stand.

Street tires are a killer. The best I've run so far is a 2.2 60' and 8.34 at 85mph. Think I spun the first whole 60'....... I need to get back out there and get some more practice.

i'd get the car to a tuner. even with a poor 60' that particular engine combo should definately be trapping higher. my wife snagged a sweet 2.6 60' in her 99 m6 ta and still managed to trap 88 with a lid and weld in flowmaster 80 series as the only "mods".

Quick Reply: So my car only trapped 86 in the 1/8??
