stupid ? and i searched .. how to remove stock torque converter ??
well i have a seized motor .. and i cant figure out hot to take the damn stock converter off .. i dnt see any bolts holding the back of it in place do i just jank it out ?this a 98 ls1 off a trans am ,, 3 rods are broken and motor will not turn over .. im just trying to put it on a engine stand and take it apart to see the real damage ..

look at the flywheel from the engine side.spin it until you see the bolts. your gonna have to hold the flywheel in place to take out the bolts.have some1 hold the flywheel with a prybar and you remove the bolts.

remeber guys block is totaly sezed ... piston rod chunks everyweere !! wont budge but
yeah ... finally seen the bolts .. there fucken hex .. well i had to tear up the whole block but still having issues with the torque converter ... good thing i didnt start banging on it ...

Funny replies huh?
Just take the trans off and torch the flexplate off.
Hell the engine is blown, whats losing a flexplate.
You might even be able to get a boxed end wrench between the block and flexplate with the trans out.

no way .. the bolts that hold the torque coverter in place were hex size bolts .. i finally got it apart .. took me 3 hours of engine diasembly and a larger hammer to break the rod that was stuck in the cam shaft that prevented it from turning over .. haha
