Default Cutout WOT noise

Hey guys, I just got my cutout installed when I have it open for some reason under WOT every time it redlines and as soon as it shifts (a4) I get a loud BRAP/pop/backfire type noise. It does not do in when I rev it up in neutral, or any other time. The noise does not happen with my stock exhaust when i close the cutout so I dont think its a missfire or anything. Anyone know what this annoying *** noise is? Heatsheild getting hit with a sudden blast of exhaust maybe? I don't hear it in any LS1 WOT cutout videos. Any input would be great, maybe this is just something normal as a lack of backpressure.

sounds like your trans might be slipping, making you hit the rev limiter

mine did it. Never hurt anything i dont think. Periodically, like once a month or two months, it would let out a very loud blast through the cutout, i dont know if that **** was normal, but pops during shifting or coasting arent that abnormal for a cutout, especially if your tune isnt spot on.

Nah my trans is def not slipping, its an exhaust noise and it does not happen when i have the cutout closed. Plus I only have 30,000 miles on my car haha. I think its because right as it shifts, there is a temporary lack of backpressure and it makes that noise or something.

That sounds feasable to me... My old 99 Z28 did that all the time at the track with the cut out open too, mainly from 1-2nd

It TM pulling out timing during the shift. It's normal. Only way to get rid of it is to get a tune.

Aha! That would make sense why it only does it in the lower shifts and not like on the highway. Thanks man.
