Default ASR Light WEIRD ISSUE

I have a 00 ss w/4 channel, every time I start my car the ASR Light is off and I can toggle the switch and works fine. But as soon as I hit the gas the light pops up on the instrument cluster and the switch is inoperable. Any ideas, there is no service engine light on. I'm thinking TPS possibly?

i had that problem for awhile, my battery started dieing a slow death, replaced battery, haven't had it since. It seems when the battery starts losing power, you get weird ABS/brake/ASR lights sometimes. Sometimes i would get all 3, but i did get the ASR one like described above. Its been a couple years now no problems. Hope that helps.

The battery has been replaced with an optima red top. Maybe I will check the charging system. Thank you for the response. Guess I will take it to the dealer for a tech II scan $$$

It could possibly be a loose ground. Check the grounds on the top of each fender inside the engine bay. I believe the one on the driver's side is a ground wire for the ASR/ABS circuit.

Thank you for the information I will check that today. Otherwise it is off to the dealer to spend about a hundred bucks for a diagnosis

this is old, and idk if you fixed your cars or not, but i had the same problem with a 2000 camaro i had. I ended up changind the Throttle control motor thing (mounted by battery) and it fixed my problem. seen it on a 99 car as well where it did the same exact thing.
