Default Rod Bearing Question

What are your thoughts.

98 LS1 block , getting new 243 heads. 75,000 miles...runs great new heads and cam, lifters, chain etc. oil pump etc.

Since the 98 have weak rod bolts was going to replace them with arp ones (ARP-134-6006 Correct? for stock replacements)

should i put in a new set of rod bearing (FEM-8-7100CH) while im in there rod not crank? or just replace the bolts?

Im not planning on taking out/off the crank or the pistons or main caps, unless i find something... then that puts me into another boat.

thoughts

If I do decide to replace the rod bearing (even if they look good) would this be a good part to replace it with? Stock crank, Stock rods. arp rod rolts? Crank never polished or cut.

Replacing the Stock ones would require the standards ones?
since im not taking out the crank do i still need to use the green clearance sticks or just put in the new standard bearings and touque them down?

From what i read in another post probably need to be resized, but I'm definitely not the person to answer that question or your other question 3 posts above. Hopefully someone will chime in and answer your questions.

called ARP they said their bolts can cause warping from the clamping force, so with the advice from others and speaking to katech I just ordered a set of katech rod bolts. And ordered a set of the Federal Mogul Performance CH-Series Rod Bearings

The LS1 STOCK rods CANNOT be resized, due to the way the are manufactured. so basically if you warp a rod with arp bolts you would have to replace the rod from what people are telling me...thus my purchasing the Katech. Arp are very good but not for stock ls1 rods.

typically we use clevite p/n 663P (or 2555P) for the rod bearings and factory crankshaft, they're same as SBC for the rod bearings
