Default removing a/c belt... will defrost still work?

Alright so something on the A/C belt drive is squeeking hella loud, so I was just going to cut off the belt (too lazy to remove it the right way) for now as a temp fix. Now obviously my a/c wont work anymore, but I was curious about the defrost. I know powering on the defrost setting uses the ac compressor, so does this mean defrost wont work if I remove the AC belt?

It will work, but not as well, when you put it on defrost it runs the a/c to dry the air, which helps defrost the windshield. It will work just might take longer to get the windshield clear.

I would think it may cause it to fog up somewhat. My honda Civic Piece of **** i drive to work doesnt have A/C and it will fog the windshield up sometimes.

jee sounds like you answered your own question...for the record i have never heard of anyone cutting their belt off bc they were too lazy to actually remove it. that is just plain stupid.

i know my defroster doesn't do jack in my '88 bronco II with the a/c removed. i'm thinking about trying the rainX stuff that is meant for fog.
