Default Time for the e30 BMW "GMW 353i" to get tuned.

I have been driving around with this car for quite sometime, and i have been spraying a 100 shot for awhile with a "mail order tune"

The setup:
1990 e30 BMW 325i
5.3l Vortec
LS6 Z06 cam
Stock ls1/ls2 exhaust manifolds w/ 2.5" straight pipe
LS1 intake ( for clerance )
Stock 5.3 computer, harness, the whole works
tr6 plugs
100-150 wet shot ( tuning for 150 shot )
stock 28lb injectors
adjustable fuel pressure regualtor
corvette fuel filter/regualator
No 02's....
Stock th400 with stock converter
4.10's
stock fuel pump

Looking to tune the car with a 150 shot to see if it will handle it without going lean. I will be actually be spraying a 100 shot until i get different gearing, instead of the stock 4.10's

Not looking to put awhole lot down cause of the mods done to the car, but with a 150 shot i think it might put 400rwhp if im lucky.

COOL! I'm building a very similar 5.3 with Vette cam for my Z-32, (thinking about switching over to an E36).

You mention LS1/LS2 exhaust manifolds. Which ones are you using?

i believe for the passengers side i ended up useing the camaro one, and the drivers side i ended up using the LS2 GTO manifold.

i also have a e36 im building up with the 5.3, and a t70 turbo Should be fun too

Well, i never was able to get the car tuned cause of something acting wierd with my cam position sensor so i couldnt get tuned for the 150 shot or anything at all.

So sense we drove an hour to get to the dyno, i said hell with it while we are here im going to see what my car currently puts down N/A, and then with the 100 shot.

Car is completly untuned, with the mods in my first post ( not sure how much power loss from th400??)
but here are the lowsy numbers...

N/A: 256.51rwhp / 267.79Tq

100 shot: 372.44rwhp / 431.95Tq

Nice numbers for an untuned 5.3, very nice...
I started looking around for an E36 yesterday, spent most of the day just trolling car lots. Need to get my Z32 up for sale...

Looking forward to more updates...

Going for my level 10 Necro post badge.

Update since my last post here. Sold the Nissan Z32, bought a '97 M3, drove it for a couple months, (LOVE the car) sold the 240 HP S52 engine and 5 speed to my best friend who installed it in his Datsun 260-Z which is literally just a couple wire connections from being on the road in the next week or two.
Over the past year and half have been working with Mike Knell of JTR on prototyping the LSx E36 converison kit, project is close to being on the road, fired up the engine a few weeks ago in the car, just waiting on the JTR/Sanderson headers to arrive, hopefully in the next month or so, build thread here;
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...onversion.html

Any plans to convert the E46 to LSx power? Been a few discussion in the conversion section of BFC about it lately.

Nah, im not going to do the e46. I have had my e30 5.3l swap for awhile and have been having fun with it.
Ran it N/A for awhile, then nitrous, and now i have a 70mm turbo on it. =) Im hoping to eventually crank it up to around 15psi or so, but i think its going to be wasted power if i cant hook.

I sold my e36 5.3 turbo swap awhile back also. But like i said in another BMW swap thread that i wouldnt mind rocking an e36/6.0/t56/cam'd daily driver and have someone total out my e46. LOL!!!

Do you have pics of any of your cars? I have a e36 that I got for this swap, my winter beater for the moment, and wanted to do a turbo on it.

Love to see the e30 too.

I'll see what i can gather up. Most are just from doing the swap and not much of the finished project. I'll have some more pics this spring when it gets nicer.
