Default Opinion...stay bolt on or go cam only?

I'm on the fence here. 01 SS with 105K miles. ran 12.9@1XX with 1.98 60 with a lid and catback. Putting a FLT LV4 trans and a Circle D 2c. Should i just stick to bolts on's and maybe a 100 shot or do a Cam only car(el torro)with the bolt ons? Larry @ Speed got me thinking about spinning a high mileage motor higher. Still on a stock 10 bolt and suspension too. Car is 80% street 20% track.
Thanks Guys

thats a good question! I went with a cam instead of nitrous cause' I was thinking all the extra TQ from the nitrous would surely put an end to my stock tranny, and I also have a Yank 4000 stall, long tubes, true duals and bullet mufflers with just a TSP lid and now an RPM 5 cam and a solid tune it's rowdy but very streeable and this a my DD with no other car to drive!

I'd love to do the H/C but i would be pissed if the motor failed and chunked up the the heads. B4 i would do heads i would build a 370 or a something along those lines. I know there are alot of fast 347's, but why not bump up some cubes? The suspension upgrades sound like a good path. Any other opinions? Will that motor last long spinning at 6500?

You really need supporting parts before you throw a cam in there. Get everything else done, put your cam in, beef up your valvetrain and then tune it. You'll be fine.

Build the car from the back to the front.

That sounds like a good piece of advice. Never thought of it that way. Thanks
