Default Finally Got That 9 sec Slip

Thanks Guy's
Well I finally go down the track with some conservative shift points (around 6200) and only 900psi bottle for bottle pressure. The result a 9.85 @ 143.25 This was our first run of the day. The second run I shut down due to some popping. The third run we put fresh plugs in upped the shift points a touch and brought the bottle pressure to 1000 psi and BOOM I SPIT OUT ANOTHER TRANNY!!! I don't know if the tranny is ever going to be able to handle the power. I have a delay on the spray to save the rear but on the 1-2 shift the tranny just let go. I am sure if we could go all out with out breaking; the car will go a low 9's. I like to thank Carmen, Dennis and Joey for the 9-sec slip. I have no video just a slip but there was someone that taped the run he said he would send it to Carmen. I am sure he will post it as soon as he gets it. If there is anyone out there that wants to put their tranny to the test. I am willing to send it though the motions. I could use one for the next weekend.

Congrats on the runs!

You might want to get ahold of Taner on the camaroz28.com drag racing forum. Sometimes he pops in here too but I know he has MANY 9 second runs on a T56 that has been prepped properly.

Good luck!

We were running a 300 shot but at only 900psi. it is a TNT system designed for 1000psi we keep tuning the the car down to try and make it down the track as soon as we bring the bottle psi up and bring the shft points to where we want them we break parts. we are running a .8 delay out of the hole to save the rear but now the tranny is killing us.

I will keep at it but our season here is coming to a quick end.

Thanks Guy's
The car is a Z06 with a 4L60 tranny. (yes a auto) as far as the parts that have let go. It has been different each time anything from a sprag to splitting the case.

Whose 4L60E is it? I've heard that Rossler makes a good C5 tranny but I'd defer to a person who actually has one and gets a whole season out of one.

Guy's
I have used tranny's built by three different shops and was told that there is only so much they could do with the parts available no one expected them to handle the power but they did expect me to get a dozen or so full blown passes.
Not the case, I haven’t tried the Rossler unit yet but I have spoke to them and they are using all the same parts. The Yank system was in my car but due to some bugs that they need to work out I was forced to scrap the Idea for now. I have spoken to Mike and expect to give it another shot in the future but for now the C5 has limited options and it is certainly holding us back.

ARE went 9.25 with their C5 and A4 tranny. They lost a converter once but the tranny was fine. If they read this they might be able to give some advice

From what I remember and heard, stuff like the ARE NBM C5 and Duemler's TT LPE C5 would go thru trannies ever other time they went to the track.
