Hi,

I have a friend that has a Lumina (same as GTO in US). His tranny 4L60E is going bad.
I have my OEM 2001 Z28 tranny still in pretty good shape.

Question:
Can they interchange?
If it is a matter of tailshaft length, couldn't we swap his on my tranny and hook it up?

Please let me know, he is out of $$ as I wish to help him asap.

Mark you will have to swap the tail shaft and also the transmission shifter selector shaft. Also if you would like, swap the oil pan and get a new deep pan filter. The GTO's had a deep pan as well. The later units had 5 pinion planets but for what you are doing it will still work. Vince
