Default Taylor Plug Wires... Still recommended against?

Well, I think it's time to do my plug wires, since I did my plugs recently and there's still a slight stumble at idle. Did some searching and read a few threads with some people mentioning they've had or heard of bad experiences with the Taylors burning out. I can get a factory replacement set (not Delco) for $50, or get these ones for $48.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Taylor/895/74026/10002/-1

Otherwise: Can off the shelf MSD's Cut to Length customs work on our cars if I got the long boot ones for the Opti? Or will they not come with the right connector ends for inside the Opti? If it will work, anyone have the part number for which kit works?

And I'm pretty sure it's doable, from what I saw under my car, but F-Body's can change the wires w/o having to pull the pump/hub right?

Thanks!

Ive ran taylors on just about every drag car weve owned. Never had a problem with their wires. MSD wires in my opinion are a little better quality though.

I didn't have much luck with the Taylors. They tend to degrade with time. I went with the MSDs the second time around and am pleased with the results.

My vote is def for the MSD. If you need a set my local buddy on here sells them at a good price. He's hooked up several guys on here. "99blancoss" is his user name.

Well, I don't have headers so OTVC is slightly out of the question right now. The stock manifolds would eat them up heh I had read your posts too Elliot on BlancoSS, and was contemplating asking him.

My buddy did it not too long ago. So far excellent. I had them for a while and had firework shows but I didnt take my time on them so that was probably my mistake. I have MSD 8.5's now and have no complaints

I have been running taylor thundervolts for 3 years without any problems, the first two years of that were pure daily driver runs as my main mode of transportation.

Just route them properly and you will be fine.

I'd go with MSD 32149 for stock wire lengths or 32129 for the cut-to-fit ones with the pre-crimped Opti ends

Alright so I have to confess, I was thinking the MSD Universal Kit was $40-60, which is quite a ways off from what I think they are costing. I'm just going off memory from when I worked at the parts store.

So for someone who's A) On a budget B) Doesn't have any real mods (headers) and C) needs them relatively soon; does anyone have a picture of the Opti side wire ends? I ask since here's what I'm thinking: I can either get a premade set for a different vehicle (like a Chrysler) or other GM engine, or get a Uni Kit not intended for the LTx and make some The MSD Chrysler ones have long boots, but they're for the plugs and the 90º boots are very wide and most likely not the right end to go over a plug anyways. But since some MOPARs have front mount dists, it should be the right length if I had to cut the ends off and put correct ones + plug style 90º booties. I know, I'm a hack lol I just don't have the money for LTx MSD or the time to wait for Elliot's friend :\

Except they're $124 and $143, respectively
