Is the problem definately your power steering pump or your balancer not seated all the way causing your belt to come off?

definately the power steering pump..The bolts won't thread in all the way, leaving it hanging down a bit, so there is some slack on th belt..Everyhting else lines up straight

If it's just the bolts try some a little shorter and on the crossover use some rtv.

^ agreed shorter bolts, you could also throw some washers in there to push the whole power steering assembly back too
- if something didn't always go wrong mechanics wouldn't charge $95/ hr

OK use the RTV..Is there a certian way the gasket mates to the block..For example, does the bigger hole in the gasket go over the screw or does it go over the actual venting part of the tube that goes in the block??

you need to find out why the ps pump is not going in all the way. it does not matter what heads because they swap in the same. i went 243 to 317 to 823 and the ps always went all the way in. try a thread chaser or tap and just see if there is something in there. using shorter bolts is a half-*** job that could result in pulled threads. as for the coolant pipes, oreilly and autozone carry the gaskets in the motormite section.
