How do you know if it's the speakers or the amp?

Default How do you know if it's the speakers or the amp?

How can you tell if it's the speakers that have gone bad, or the amp?

My speakers started going, it seems like one at a time. The driver door would (and still does) come in and out & some times has like a static in it? Others just seem week?

Seems to me it has to be the amp or the head unit. Never known a speaker to work sometimes and sometimes not. If a speaker is blown, it will sound bad all the time.

You swap the wires to the speakers and see if the problem switches speakers (same amp. channel) or stays with the same speaker.

Static is not a speaker problem, though, if you really mean static and not just like popping sounds.

I seriously doubt all speakers would start to go at once, unless overpowered or playing huge distortion. By "one at a time" do you mean over a week or...?
