where is the motor vin plate or stamp on a 99 ls1 out of camaro?


and can anyone run a vin check on this motor for me when i do find it?

just trying to get my rock buggy green stickered and california wont even think about giving it to me until they run the vin on the motor...


every person ive talked to says its on the black of the block but i cantfind it

It's just above the bellhousing, the holes are just a reference point on where they are on the block.

VIN or part number? two very different things... like posted before, there are no VINS on motors for a long long time... only part numbers like in the pics z28/2002 posted

The part number is only going to tell what year the block is from, if it even breaks it down that far.

There is a the last 8 of the vin etched on the left rear of the block under the
head, you need amirror and a flashlight to see if its on the car, i work at a dealer trust me its there its hard to make it out but if you do post it and i can run a gm VIS and see what year it came from

the motor is out of a 99 camaro, the chp needs it to run a vin check to see if it is stolen before i can register my rock buggy for off road. the chp told me it was on the back of the motor i couldnt find it. i will look closer in that area.


ramair racer can you pull any more info out of that number?
