Degreeing the G5X2... Who's all done it?
Anyone degree in their G5X2??
Being the fact this cam did not come witha cam card due to its specs being a LG exclusive, i have this cam and im going to install over this winter. But not knowing any specs like ICL and such makes it kinda tough to set this bad boy up. What have you all done when setting this cam up or just basically set it straight up or etc.... Share your insight
Thanks in advance !!!

I would call up LG and ask them since if it ends up on here it's giving away one of the things you are paying all the money for.

So this sort of infers that people actually shop by the "name of the cam", and not even look into its specs? yikes. I guess I can sort of see how this might happen if you buy a matched kit with heads and all. But so many things are determined by the cam specs. Piston to valve clearance, spring bind, how to set up the cam - straight up or advanced/retarded, etc. Just seems to me that the manufacturer would be obligated to at least give you the specs of what they think they are selling you.

Yeah I agree, no cam card is iffy, but it's their deal not mine.
I think there is alot of cam name shopping because some guys just don't get cam specs and some do.
BTW the G5X2 is about as close as you can get on P/V. The ICL and duration/lobe are really close to the limit.

Yeah i thought it was a little odd as well. In my experience it was very rare that you get a cam thats set straight up be within 1-2 degrees of where its supposed to be. Even my .563"/224 was 2 degree off. And im extremley concious of the p/v clearance issue with this cam and thats why i want to set it for the way it was intended. I still have the 5.7L heads which gives me a little more room for error but then your leaving HP on the table too by just taking a shot in the dark.

I think this cam has 4 degees of advance ground in if im not mistaken. Granted the power loss seen from a couple degrees is going to be a very minor amount and im probably trying to split hairs, this cam is such a monster its still gonna be a turd below 3K regardless of how much advance you can throw at it. But its intresting that no one else questioned degreeing this cam before. And i agree with the statement of name shopping when buying a cam, ill admit ive tracked the #s and 1/4 times this cam has produced and that right there gave the inspiration to plop down the rather large amount of cash VS other LG grinds to get that same potential for my car.

I have worked with many of our cam buyers on degreeing the cam in. They promised that they would not give out our information, and it seems that they kept their word.
If you have our cam just give me a call and I can go over it with you.
Thanks for using the G5X-2 cam.
