do i need to flycut for XXXX cam?
i'd like to set this up to be an answer to all of the post asking what cams need to have the pistons flycut.
i know everyones big answer is to measure and that is understandable. but i don't want to buy a $400 cam just to install, measure, and then have to sell it.
i'd like everyone to post their setup, and i will add it to the 2nd post to get a full list going.
information i would like to be listed, car, year, heads(casting, milled?), valve size, cam. and if you had to flycut, how much did you take out.
mods, if this thread is against rules or anything, please feel free to delete it.

That list is pointless. If you have a cam or setup in mind, you still need to measure and be prepared to flycut. If not, vendors know their cams and can tell you right away, yay or nay
cams sold for cam only applications All "FIT", just by what margin is a diferent story.

I have a 232/236 .595/.578 113+3 going in with 61cc TFS 215's. Everyone said I would be fine without flycutting......guess what - I measured at 11 ATDC on the intake valve less than .050...
So, that is why you can get in trouble just listening to what everyone says! Lot's of guys would have just run that setup. Maybe there would be a problem...maybe not. But if there was it could be serious!
