Default 93 to 94-95 PCM and Harness??

Okay, When I got the car on the dyno I found out that I am having computer problems. I was told to check my harness for breaks or shorts. Well, after further inspecting my harness it is spliced in way more than originally thought. I knew the oil sensor was spliced and the coolant sensor but,OMG every fuel injector harness is but connected together. After all the work I've done to the car I never noticed this. I've also had the CPU replaced once before. I'm having Quad Drive failures. My question is. What do I need to switch to a 94-95 PCM.

Parts I know I need:
94-95 PCM
Engine Wiring Harness
IAC

Do I need anything else?? I figured if I have to change a CPU and a harness, I should go to a more common and easier to tune setup. I need to get this resolved fast!!!

-Thanks, Justin

MAF and heated O2s will be nice too.

I don't know much about the wiring in the car but I can give you all the info on cables and software for the 94-5 setup once you get closer.

You will need a MAF. Not sure if you need different o2 sensors as well.

There is a slight difference that I am not sure if it needs to be addressed:
http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm

Also you will have to tune out all of the transmission related codes.

That'll probably be something I'll have to deal with when I get there unless anyone knows from experience. I already have heated O2's and extensions. -Thanks

You'll make less power with a MAF setup

I have a spare PCM and engine harness for a 93 if you are interested.

You'll need an engine harness and PCM. 99.5% sure that's it. 93 won't plug into a 94 PCM, so you require the harness. I'm assume you're going to get it tuned, so you won't need a MAF since they can just set you up for SD. Since you have to do the harness anyways, and will be changing computers to boot, did you think about doing the LS PCM swap?

The ICM is also different. As far as wiring goes, the pins on the connectors by the passenger side kick panel are in a different order. The connectors are C210, C220 and C230. Use shoebox's schematics for the pinouts and compare them. Here is a link http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm

I appreciate all the help guys. Has ayone actually ever done a conversion?? I don't want to do the LS1 PCM because of the cam and crank sensors.

I've done this, but it was a 99-02 harness in a 98 LS1 TA. Different wiring harness, but I had to do the same thing plus some compared to what you need to do. It's not bad, as long as you have pinouts for the 93 connectors and the 94 connectors it will be easy.

Is this for a A4 or M6? The M6 has no problems. If you have an A4, you may have to get the 4l60e.

The car is a M6. So basically all I have to do is plug and play to all the sensors on the engine and repin the connectors near the kick panel on the passenger side? That's easy enough. Does it matter if I get an automatic cpu and harness. Or does it have to be a 6 speed harness and cpu?

Definately look for a 6speed ecu and harness, although it will have an extra plug for the skip shift. Good luck with the swap and if i gets too complicated, my offer still stands.

Obviously it would be easier for you to use a M6 harness, but you can use an auto harness if you don't mind the extra work of removing the unused auto wires and adding in the needed M6 wires and pigtails. Any of the 6 speed swap write-ups out there would explain that part of the deal for ya.

Which reminds me, I have the pigtail harness for the M6 if you need it. You just have to run the wires all the way back to the harness-to-pcm connectors in their proper location.
