Sn95 with 5.3/T56 conversion. Pics and questions
I just joined the site and wanted to show everyone my current project and also get everyone's advice regarding potential problems i might encounter.
I have the 98 Mustang Gt roller pictured below that has the following:
-Rebuilt welded 8.8 rear
-4.10's
-31 spline axles
-Lakewood 90/10's
-Eibach Drag Springs
-Subframe Connectors
-Two Race Buckets
-ET Streets on Stock GT wheels.
The chassis is clean and originally a 5-speed car. The car previously went 10.6@128 on a built 2V Mod motor and a large dose of spray.
I am in the process of converting the car over with the use of a 5.3 LM7 / T56 combo. The 5.3 will have ported stock heads, cam, beehive springs, LS1 mani, bolt/ons, and more than likely will be back on the bottle once i get potential kinks worked out.
My questions are as follows (thank you in advance):
1.) Are there any popular K-members that are used to simplify GenIII swaps into SN95's? The car currently has a tubular K-member set up for a 4.6. AJE Racing makes a direct bolt in K-member that uses LS mounts but it is pricey. Any better alternatives? http://www.ajeracing.com/products.php
2.) What type of headers have been known to fit in these cars with little or no (prefered) modification? I may be searching for a needle in a haystack...but hey...worth a shot.
3.) Anything i should potentially be aware of from previous experience?
I appreciate the help in advance and look forward to become a longstanding member of the forum. 1st time poster...long time lurker

From my research,
People have been using 351 swap headers. They cut the flange off and weld on a ls1 flange.
As far as the k-member,
there are a few people on here that modified the 4.6 k-member to make the genIII motor mounts work.
Or you can go with AJE's k-member. It's like 350 for a direct bolt in. I think thats a pretty good price.

Yes I am doing the same project but an Auto. A word of advise. I went through hell trying to avoid paying the money for the kooks. I would just be patient and save your money for a kooks 1 7/8 long tubes. along with A/J K/M. You'll thank me on the long run.
